Reality

What is Reality? Well now, like it or not, you are reality. The entire universe is in your head! There's no getting away from it, when you close your eyes these words will disappear.

You there! Sitting there reading, you are the center of the universe! And you can test me if you think I'm wrong: Don't you view the world as "The world and everything on the outside and me on the inside"? Let's face it, whenever you go somewhere, isn't it always you in the scene, with everything and everyone, and all worldly phenomena unfolding around you?

What I'm trying to say is that when you get right down to it, there is no one exclusive reality--it differs from person to person, from one center of the universe to another.

E=mc2. What does this mean?

It means Energy is equal to matter if you could run the latter at the velocity of light squared. In other words, there is no difference between energy and matter, because all matter is dense, compressed energy, and according to the above theory, it will turn fully back into the pure form (energy) when it travels at the speed of light squared.

But whether compressed or as a vapor, or a sound wave, or a beam of light, whatever form, the universe is energy. Thus, the "physical reality" of the statement that All is One.

One substance: Western man calls it energy and eastern man calls it God, but whatever the name, this extraordinary substance, this cosmic root substance if you will, with its millions upon millions of forms and manifestations contains a fantastic bonus...consciousness! Which is you and me.

Now western man still can't figure out consciousness, he can't define it with a formula, but if he had happened to ask certain yogis in India and certain lamas in Tibet (who, incidently, knew about the "all is one" thing thousands of years ago) or certain Rosicrucian philosophers in medieval Europe, or even certain guys in ancient Greece, he would have been told that consciousness is the highest manifestation of energy, it is without form, transcendent, it is the Mind of God, and in our case as humans it is caught in an illusion of separate-ness, isolated and trapped in a body.

The reason I'm telling you all of this is so you will understand that when you begin to question yourself and your "reality" things will begin to change, because the universe is in your head and when you change your head, by God, you change the universe!

Now I'm not just talking about questioning the smaller objects and phenomena within your reality, but the very fact of the reality itself. Is it valid? Are you really hip to everything that's going on, completely together and satisfied, are you a contented being? If not, it's because something is missing...there's still something you need to find...

This is the point where you notice that up ahead on the road you're traveling there's a small path that branches off into a totally different direction. Over the centuries it has been referred to as "the path of the Bodhisattva", "the path of seeking", "the path of enlightenment", etc., but forget all that and just call it "the path".

This path appears to everyone at one point or another, and most people will cruise right by and never see it. Others, noticing the path, pass it by because they are very involved in their present course.

In my case, I chose to take this detour, and I shall never be the same, for I found that the more and more I questioned my reality the less and less I actually knew. This can be very unsettling, and I must warn you that if you choose to take this path it won't be long before you find that it isn't all fun and games. There may arise a manic-depressive quality in the personality, there will be periods of intense confusion, there will be perhaps neurosis. On the other hand you will experience moments of clarity when, for a moment, it will all unfold to you, and such moments make it all worthwhile.

Intuition will strengthen and will ultimately guide you through. Be sure that you are serious and sincere, and realize that this is the only thing left for you to accomplish as a human.

And with that I say "Walk on"!
